Tracks leaked to internet

In an interview with Wendy Williams on WBLS Radio, Foxy Brown lived up to her word of her previous album and "broke the silence" and what is really going down with her album and Def Jam Records. Although it was thought that both Def Jam and Foxy had settled their differences after the label gave Foxy her opportunity to set up her own label, Ill Na Na Entertainment, it seems that new problems have arised. Apparently, DefJam are not happy about Foxy's image at the moment and would rather have Foxy in her Chyna Doll persona as it would appear. Foxy Brown isn't happy about the lack of creative control over at DefJam has once again confronted Lyor Cohen for a release, but once again, she was denied.

However, the main reason for the album being put on ice is related to a contractual situation with P. Diddy and Bad Boy Records, who own 50% of her contract. The pair have been unable to agree terms, which has led up to the delay. Consquently, most of the album has been mysteriously leaked on the Internet and you can peep the tracklistings for the album in the Album Previews section.

Foxy also let out a few secrets behind the scenes at DefJam by stating that the people at the label have said that Ja Rule, DMX and Jay-Z are all underachieving at the label. Considering that two of the above are retiring after their next albums should sort that one out for DefJam though.

With all the above said, fans of Foxy Brown have set up a petition to attempt to get DefJam to release her from her contract, similar to the recent Ras Kass petition that was set up. A release is unlikely unless another label is willing to buy out the rest.
