The former Club Rio in Las Vegas is history. According to Billboard.com, Prince is taking over the space to launch his own 3121 nightclub, which will host concerts by the artist as well as acts signed to his NPG label.

The venture is promoted on the Web site 3121.com, which opens with a picture of the Rio hotel featuring Prince’s symbol on the front. The photo gives way to images of Chaka Khan, Sheila E, Maceo Parker, Floetry, Patti LaBelle, Esthero, Cee-Lo, the Roots, comedian Katt Williams and others.

Sources tell Billboard.com that Concerts West/AEG Live, producers of Prince's $90 million Musicology tour in 2004, will be working with the artist on the project, which will launch next month.

In stores now is the soundtrack to the upcoming animated film “Happy Feet,” which features Prince’s new track,“Song of the Heart,” written specifically for the film.
