Hopes to re-scheduling in the future.

Upon learning that he has been banned from performing in China due to his lyrics, rapper Jay-Z has issued a statement expressing a desire to book a gig in the country at some point in the future.

"I look forward to rescheduling my concert date in Shanghai," Jay-Z said in a statement. "This world tour has been a life changing experience and it has only been made better by touching the fans that I am seeing for the first time."

As previously reported, China's Ministry of Culture cancelled Jay-Z’s scheduled Oct. 23rd performance because some of his lyrics were considered “vulgar.”

The artist and Def Jam president is in the midst of a world tour that doubles as an awareness campaign for the world’s water crisis. MTV will air footage of his journey in a special, “Diary of Jay-Z: Water for Life,” scheduled to air on Nov. 24 – three days after his new album, Kingdom Come” arrives in stores.
