Best of Both Worlds Tour Back On Track

Jay-Z and R. Kelly are back on the same page and are currently finalizing plans for their long-awaited Best of Both Worlds tour. The trek is scheduled to hit more than 40 cities, with the first stop being Kelly's hometown of Chicago on September 30 and the last date being November 28 in Phoenix.

The team declined to reveal any details about the outing, but advised fans to be prepared for anything.

"We want people to be genuinely shocked and awed, we're on a shock-and-awe campaign," Hova said in a video statement released Thursday.

"We want to blow up the world," Kelly added. "In any arena we go to, we want to give them something they've never seen before. You never know what [can] happen when me and Jay get on that stage — we're spontaneous."

Tour dates will be announced soon; it is unclear if the tour will follow an itinerary similar to the one detailed in R. Kelly's court documents last month.

Prior to the release of the pair's joint LP, The Best of Both Worlds, in March 2002, Jay-Z and Kelly announced they would tour to support the album. However, child-pornography charges were filed against Kelly shortly before the album's release and plans for the tour were postponed. The two did perform songs from the album onstage last year, during Jay-Z's concert at Madison Square Garden in November.

Both men have reigned over their respective genres of music since The Best of Both Worlds was released. Jay-Z is nominated for six MTV Video Music Awards this year stemming from The Black Album, and Kelly's new double-LP, Happy People/ U Saved Me, comes out on Tuesday.
