Hip-Hop Artists Including Sean Combs to Busta Rhymes Attempt To Register New Voters

Sean Combs, Busta rhymes, Erykah Badu and Lil' Romeo are expected to attend a Jan. 31 event at Texas Southern University sponsored by the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network. They will discuss issues about the hip-hop industry, the importance of voting and other issues such as the spread of HIV and AIDS.

The admission is free, but anyone who wants to attend must register to vote to obtain tickets. Organizers hope to draw 10,000 people, according the Houstan Chronicle.

A hip-hop summit in Philly registered 11,000 new voters last summer and an April event drew 17,000 participants.
